Ever wish the moon shone brightly in a few colors other than just a slice of shimmer? If so, Hublot has the answer for you. The new Hublot Spirit of Big Bang Moonphase watches are offered in shades of blue, purple, orange and pink with incredible color-coordinated quartz crystals, alligator straps, sand-blasted moonphase disc, hands, indices and gemstone-set bezel for a vivid singular color statement.
Inside the 42 mm tonneau-shaped case, sits an openworked HUB1770 hand-wound skeleton movement, visible dial side through an enhanced quartz dial made from silicon dioxide (SiO2) and aluminium oxide (AI2O3) melted at high temperature. The quartz is colored by the addition of a mixture of rare elements from the earth. The crystals have a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale.
To depict the moon and its phases, Hublot uses a semi-transparent sand-blasted disc revealing two alternating moons in matching shades. A lunar cycle is reproduced in a large round window that completes one revolution every two lunar months. There is a date indication, as well.
The Hublot Spirit of Big Bang Moonphase alternates polished, satin-finished titanium or King Gold surfaces. Its bezel is set with 48 blue, orange or pink sapphires, or amethysts depending on the model. Water-resistant to 100 metres, the Spirit of Big Bang Moonphase has a power reserve of 50 hours.
